Cookie Policy

The short version: PesaCalc uses as few cookies as it can get away with, and none of them follow you around the internet.

Last updated June 2026

In plain English: we do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any cross-site advertising or marketing trackers. The cookies we do set are there to keep the site secure and to remember whether you have opted out of our basic visit counting. That is it.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Some last only until you close the tab (session cookies), others stay for a while so the site remembers something next time (persistent cookies). Most of the web runs on them, often far too many of them. We have gone the other way.

What PesaCalc actually sets

Here is the full list. If you ever see a cookie from us that is not on this list, please tell us.

CookieWhy it existsType
PHPSESSIDA standard session cookie that keeps the site secure, mainly so forms like the contact form cannot be abused (CSRF protection). It holds no personal data and disappears when you close your browser.Essential
pc_notrackSet only if you opt out of our anonymous visit counting. It simply remembers your choice so we do not count you. No opt-out, no cookie.Preference

A few calculators may also save a setting or your last inputs in your browser's local storage. That is not a cookie, it never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

How we count visits without following you

We like to know which calculators are useful, so we keep a simple, first-party count of page views on our own server. It records things like the page visited, your approximate location from your IP address, and your browser type, all in aggregate. We do not use this to build a profile of you, we do not link it to anything you type into a calculator, and we never sell it. We also filter out our own admin visits and obvious bots so the numbers stay honest.

What we do not use

Our content security policy actively blocks third-party scripts, so even if a stray tracker tried to load, the browser would refuse it. If that ever changes (for example, if we add advertising to keep the site free), we will update this page first and clearly disclose any cookies those partners set.

Managing cookies

You are always in control. Every browser lets you view, delete or block cookies, and you can set it to warn you before a cookie is stored. Blocking the essential session cookie may stop forms from working, but the calculators themselves will still run.

Changes to this policy

If our use of cookies changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Nothing here is set in stone except our preference for keeping it minimal.
