Search for "Mansa X interest rate" and you are asking a question the fund itself would gently correct. Mansa X does not pay interest at all. It reports net returns, and understanding that difference is the key to reading its numbers properly, comparing it with a money market fund, and deciding whether it belongs in your plan. Here is what the fund actually paid, year by year, from its own fact sheets.

📈
The short answer: Mansa X (KES) has averaged about 18.18% net per year since January 2019. In 2025 it returned 20.74% net, its best year yet, and the first half of 2026 delivered 10.97% net (Q1 4.74%, Q2 5.95%). These are historical results after all fees, not a rate card, and not guaranteed.

Why "interest rate" is the wrong lens

A bank fixed deposit or a money market fund quotes a rate before you invest: you can see 8% or 10% per annum on the tariff and hold the product to earn roughly that. Mansa X is a multi-asset special fund run by Standard Investment Bank under a long/short trading model. Your money buys units, the unit value moves with the portfolio, and the "rate" is only known after the fact. That is why SIB publishes quarterly and annual net returns rather than an interest rate.

The practical difference matters in both directions. A quoted interest product can never beat its quote; a fund can, and Mansa X has repeatedly out-earned every quoted shilling product in Kenya. But a quoted product also cannot underperform its quote, while a fund can have a weak quarter or, in principle, a losing one.

The "rate chart" people actually want

If you want a single picture: the worst full year in seven was 15.45% net and the best was 20.74% net. Quarterly, recent prints run between about 4.7% and 6.1%. Money market funds over the same stretch paid roughly 8 to 14 percent gross depending on the year and the fund, which lands at about 7 to 12 percent after withholding tax. Mansa X has beaten that range every single year so far, which is exactly what you would demand in exchange for its higher risk and 6-month lock-in.

⚠️
Fees are already inside the net numbers. Mansa X charges a 5% p.a. financial services charge and a 10% performance charge only on returns above a 25% hurdle. The net returns above are what investors kept after those charges, so do not subtract fees again when you model it.

QWhat interest rate does Mansa X pay per month?

Mansa X does not pay a fixed monthly interest rate. It reports net returns that vary with performance. In 2026 the KES fund returned 4.74% net in Q1 and 5.95% net in Q2, which averages roughly 1.7 to 2 percent a month for the half year, but individual months differ and no month is guaranteed.

QIs the Mansa X interest rate guaranteed?

No. Mansa X is a CMA-licensed special fund, not a bank deposit. Returns are historical and can vary or turn negative; the fund itself warns that you could sustain a loss of some of your initial investment. Its consistency since 2019 (worst full year: 15.45% net) is a track record, not a promise.

QWhat has Mansa X returned per year since it started?

Per SIB's published fact sheets, net of fees: 2019 19.01%, 2020 18.75%, 2021 15.45%, 2022 15.59%, 2023 18.01%, 2024 19.53%, 2025 20.74%, and 10.97% for the first half of 2026. The average since inception is about 18.18% net per year.

QWhat is the minimum to invest in Mansa X?

KES 250,000 to start and KES 100,000 minimum top-ups for the shilling fund (USD 2,500 and USD 1,000 for the dollar fund), with an initial 6-month lock-in. Confirm current terms with Standard Investment Bank.
